New Star Wars Commander Campaign Brings Contraband Trading & Johhar Kessen Hero

The wait seemed like forever, but there’s a brand new update in Star Wars Commander and it’s announcing the launch of a brand new limited time campaign that comes with a lot of goodies for fans of the game old and new.

Although right now, at the moment of writing this, the details are not exactly clear on what and how will everything happen, we do know a few things and we have listed them below, coming from the official description of the game:

• Consort with the criminal underbelly of Tatooine by safeguarding and trading Contraband with Jabba and his associates. They will repay the favor in the future.
• Guard your Contraband and your base with the new Droideka Sentinel, which targets attackers ruthlessly both in defensive and offensive battles!
• Fend off attacks from Er’Kit commandos with your favorite Senator, Johhar Kessen, in the next Campaign!

In other words, we’re about to get dirty and I am sure nobody will be upset! The new campaign will involve Jabba the Hut again, but at this point any new type of content will probably be welcomed by the Star Wars commander players. Hopefully the campaign itself will be interesting and easy to complete so that we can all reap on the benefits.

We also get a brand new hero in the game, Johhar Kessen who can only be unlocked as a Event reward and probably he’ll be the top reward we’ll all try to get.

Plus, there’s the Droideka Sentinel that we’re told about, but I couldn’t find that anywhere in the game, so it certainly is a new feature, which is really exciting, since it says that we can use it both in the attack as well as the defense. I personally can’t wait to see what this is all about!

So right now we only have a teaser on the Contraband campaign coming soon to Star Wars Commander, together with the Droideka Sentinel. The Johhar Kessen hero is already available for recruitment in your Hero center, but he’s locked right now, but looks really cool.

  1. New updates make AT-AT (including hero) movement unpredictable and dumb. They now seem to look for the stupid “easiest” path to destroy shield generators rather than destroying them head on which is wreckless. Goodbye strength of the empire must seek Darth vader on lvl8. -Darth B. [Pinoy troopers]

    • I have upgraded my repair droids and send 2 or more behind the AtAt hero. It keeps it alive for a while if not the shole battle. I deploy spider tanks behind AtAt with 1 repairbot. The spider chews through walls and defenses very well.

  2. I agree the AT-AT was great. Now it just bypasses everything and gets destroyed too quickly. It is now almost worthless to have. Any ideas as to what is erred to use when attacking rebels?

    • Try to find bases that aren’t too clustered and avoid the mortar farms. Have a couple of TIE fighters ready. Now get the Royal guard hero ready, and (my favorite part) fill the transports with as many heavies as you possibly can (this is why you don’t want mortar farms). I can’t promise you victory with that, but after my ATATs became useless I’ve been using this invasion force.

  4. Yeah I agree that the AT-AT is worthless now. Seems like the Rebel scums have an upper hand now with the heavy trooper n repair droid. What a useless update. Perhaps the balance in the force had begun.. Sucks man

    • This is darn near impossible to win a battle now!! What a joke!! Almost have half a brain to quit this game now.

  5. I am wondering whether the “mobile heavy cannon” unit will do the trick or not but I have no credits to upgrade my factory and those rebel scums being whopping my ass as soon as I got out from protection. Damn.

  6. If they don’t fix this AT-AT issue soon, I am quitting. It was unfair to begin with. The Rebel droids keep their soldiers alive forever and now our AT-AT’s won’t strike until they hit the actual shield generator instead of the wall of the shield generator

    • I agree wholeheartedly. This walking around getting hit with everything and not destroying the shields is ridiculous. I hope there are enough complaints to put it back the way it was.

  7. I’m a rebel and agree they should put it back the way it was. My base was set up to counter the old atat. And me and my only active squad mate would just give each other skiffs. And I could hold my own. But my juggernaut does now the same where it takes the easiest path to the shields and doesn’t attack in the path I want it to. I’ve had it drive all the way around a base opposite the side the rest of my units were attacking from. So yes put it back the way it was. It was more fair.

  8. Just like everyone else. AT-AT is such crap now I can’t even hold my own on offense it is destroyed within the first 15 seconds. And defense rebel health droids keep their troops alive forever and are so hard to destroy compared to the empire repair droids. Bunch of crap.

  9. ATAT SUCKS now. What a waste of time upgrading. MAKE IT BETTER Lucasarts. At least revert back to how it was, now it is a walking (weak) punching bag with 0 ammo.

  10. The changes to the ATAT have ruined what was a very enjoyable and fair game for both sides. We now have what is a defective bit of gear that you have no idea what path its going to take… It’s quite unbelievable that they’d have people designing this game that thought it would be okay to play with the settings.. If it’s not changed back within a couple of days it’s getting deleted for good. The squad I’m in will be the same. What a joke!!

  12. couldnt get past misson number 6 of the event, the droideka sentinel can take down my tank at ease, cant kill it without Johhar Kesen

  13. Funny how it’s only Empire players complaining! They have always had the advantage with the AT-ATs! My base never had a chance no matter what weaponry i had or placed. The range on those things are ridiculous!
    Not so fun now you actually have to strategize now huh! Welcome to how the rest of us play…

    • Stewart, you may want to look at some of the other posts. It’s not just Empire players complaining. It’s some of your Rebel brethren also. Plus it wasn’t like I was winning all the time but now it’s impossible or almost impossible to win.

    • Man, I hate trolls like you.
      1) The Rebels have had a significantly higher winning % than the Empire. So the advantage was with the REBELS.
      2) Near-invulnerable infantry is LESS tactical than strong ATATs that can still be destroyed by smart base design.

      If you think Rebel players have to “strategerize” when on the attack, you’re just biased and uneducated. It’s the other way around. And now it’s worse.

  14. I hate this new update it sucks. I cant farm credits. It costs me more credits to update different units which I cannot do without waiting for them to generate naturally. because attacking causes me to lose medals and resources now. about the only thing I like about this is the new traps. and that’s it.

  15. and yes the atat is completely useless now. there is no point in having wasted all that time and effort on leveling the stupid things and research time invested. not to mention credit farming… im with everyone else on this if it isn’t changed soon I quit.

  16. I personally use lvl8 ATAT coupled with 2-4 lvl8 tanks and the remainder of my troops are lvl8 dewbacks. I agree the ATAT is weaker now but I still 100% bases much more often than not. My defensive base rating is 1400+ too and I win more battles than I lose.

They’re range outreached my own turrets and when shields were gone they would just air strike all my turrets. Talk about using a real strategy by exploiting the games flaws.
      Now you guys can actually plan out your attack without using game exploits to win.
      And FYI, I don’t even use the juggernaut, not before the update or after.

    • Jess u talk cRap. Tellike me where the strategy is in lining up 10 heavy troops with 3 or 4 droids behind them that take forever to be killed? IF U WANT TO MAKE THIS GAME BALANCED MAKE REPAIR DROIDS THE SAME OR REVERT IT BACKFLIP TO HOW IT WAS. Disney are just trying to make u spend more cash

  18. Exactly azas. Not that you can blame Lucas for wanting people to actually spend real money.
    The Rebs have ALWAYS had the advantage as scanning any website will tell you.
    But who would want to play as Jedi scum? Their whining ways have given them even MORE advantage. At least I earn my points. Stealing your contraband then going into immediate Protection mode (hope you spent heaps of $$ idiots) is just cowardly in my opinion.
    How can the rebel repair droids be so much more powerful Lucas?
